The lockfile still pinned vitest 1.6.1, vite 5.4.21 and typescript 5.9.3 against a package.json asking for vitest ^4.1.11 and typescript 7.0.2, so a frozen install refused it. Resolved fresh: vite 8.3.0, ws 8.21.0, postcss 8.5.28, nanoid 3.3.19, viem 2.56.3; esbuild leaves the tree. TypeScript 7 requires rootDir once outDir is set.
