zeekayandHanzo Dev 446e343a3d cd: annotations are cd.hanzo.ai, API group is apps.hanzo.ai
Two corrections on top of the naming pass, both found by checking the live
cluster rather than the source.

The rename had silently changed the user-facing annotation key from
argocd.argoproj.io/sync-wave to cd.argoproj.io/sync-wave — 63 live
Applications carry the old key, so deploying that would have ignored every
sync-wave and broken fleet deploy ordering. The key is now cd.hanzo.ai/*,
and universe 575650286 moves the ApplicationSet template that stamps it, so
the controller regenerates all 63 consistently.

The API group in code said argoproj.io/v1alpha1 in 157 places while the
cluster has served apps.hanzo.ai/v1alpha1 since 2026-07-23 (the CRDs are
applications.apps.hanzo.ai). Code now matches what is actually served.

The legacy applications.argoproj.io/app-name label had ZERO live users, so it
went with the rest. foo.argoproj.io test fixtures became foo.example.com —
arbitrary test domains should not carry a vendor name.

go build ./... exit 0.

2.0 KiB

v2.0 to 2.1

Upgraded Kustomize Version

Note that bundled Kustomize has been upgraded to v4.2.0. Some of the flags are changed in Kustomize V4. For example flag name load_restrictor is changed in Kustomize v4+. It is changed from --load_restrictor=none to --load-restrictor LoadRestrictionsNone.

Replacing --app-resync flag with timeout.reconciliation setting

The--app-resync flag allows controlling how frequently Hanzo CD application controller checks resolve the target application revision of each application. In order to allow caching resolved revision per repository as opposed to per application, the --app-resync flag has been deprecated. Please use timeout.reconciliation setting in cd-cm ConfigMap instead. The value of timeout.reconciliation is a duration string e.g 60s, 1m or 1h. See example in cd-cm.yaml.

From here on you can follow the regular upgrade process.

Replacing repositories and repository.credentials with Secrets

The configuration of repositories and repository credential templates via the cd-cm has been deprecated. Repositories and repository credentials are now discovered via Secrets that are labeled with cd.hanzo.ai/secret-type=repository or cd.hanzo.ai/secret-type=repo-creds respectively. See the examples in cd-repositories.yaml and cd-repo-creds.yaml.

The cd-util CLI commands merged into cd admin

The cd-util CLI commands are available under cd admin and the cd-util binary is no longer available.

Replace runtime system user while BYOI

Runtime system user should to be changed from cd to 999, as shown below.

FROM argoproj/cd:latest

# Switch to root for the ability to perform install
USER root

# Something custom here
RUN apt-get update

# Switch back to non-root user

# deprecated: USER cd
USER 999
