`guidelines/*.card.html` drew from `--border-hairline` and `--border-card` across seven files. Neither is declared anywhere. An undefined custom property makes the declaration invalid, `border-color` falls back to `currentColor`, and near-white hairlines on black is precisely the defect this package exists to prevent — rendered, for anyone reading the documentation, by the card that documents borders. It survived because `lint.mjs` skipped those paths ENTIRELY. The exemption is real but narrower than it was written: a swatch legitimately states a hex, and a swatch does not legitimately name a token that does not exist. Rule 1 — "a var() must resolve" — is a correctness rule, not a value rule, and now runs on every file. `pnpm test` lints guidelines alongside components so it cannot go quiet again. The borders card itself was documenting the pre-0.4 world: two tokens that no longer exist, and captions reading #1f1f1f, neutral-700 and #333 for values that are now white/10, white/16 and white/40.
