Two things stopped it starting. The dev server had been moved to port 1421 but tauri.conf.json still pointed at 1420, so `tauri dev` sat on "Waiting for your frontend dev server to start" forever and never built anything. The node health check then span. Its backoff grew the *request timeout* rather than the wait between attempts — the sleep was a fixed 50ms — so a node answering 404 got thousands of requests a second while the log claimed to be retrying in ever longer intervals. The growth was `default_timeout * retries` with no ceiling, which reached 149468s and would eventually panic on Duration overflow, the same "overflow when multiplying duration by scalar" the node binary carries a string for. The wait between attempts is what backs off now, doubling to a two second cap, and the request timeout stays put. Fifteen attempts over the minute instead of thousands in one second.
