spec/mustache is a submodule and spec/spec.js scandirs it at load time, so without it the gate reports 507 passed and one file failed on ENOENT — nearly green, with the entire cross-implementation conformance corpus never run. The reusable does not fetch submodules by default; the repo that has one says so, which is exactly what that input is for.
