Licensing
---------

This repository is MIT licensed. The fork does not relicense any upstream code,
and modifications made by Hanzo are released under the same MIT license.

Three distinct sets of terms apply to the files in this repository:

1. Mox source code, and Hanzo's modifications to it — the great majority of
   this repository.

     License: MIT, in LICENSE.MIT
Copyright: 2021 Mechiel Lukkien <mechiel@ueber.net>, and Hanzo AI, Inc.
                 for subsequent modifications

The MIT copyright notice is preserved verbatim. Upstream's copyright line
is retained as-is; Hanzo claims copyright only over its own changes.

2. publicsuffix/public_suffix_list.txt — the Public Suffix List, published by
Mozilla. This single data file is the only content in this repository
covered by the Mozilla Public License.

     License: MPL-2.0, in LICENSE.MPLv2.0
     Source: https://publicsuffix.org

LICENSE.MPLv2.0 is present solely to cover this file. Neither Mox nor Hanzo
Mail is dual-licensed: the MPL applies to the Public Suffix List data and to
   nothing else in this repository.

3. vendor/** — third-party Go dependencies, each under its own license as
published by its respective authors. These include BSD-3-Clause code from
The Go Authors (golang.org/x/..., and the Go-derived forks
   github.com/mjl-/{adns,autocert,flate,sherpa}), Apache-2.0 code (the
Prometheus client libraries, google.golang.org/protobuf), and others.

     Licenses: collected verbatim under licenses/

The licenses/ tree is generated from vendor/ by genlicenses.sh and is
preserved intact from upstream. It contains the dependencies' license files,
not any license grant covering Mox or Hanzo Mail themselves.

The command `mail licenses` prints all of the above from the running binary.

Changes from upstream
---------------------

The Go module path was renamed from github.com/mjl-/mox to
github.com/hanzoai/mail, and import paths were updated to match. See LLM.md for
the full record of what was and was not changed.
