Josh StoryandGitHub 6a39e9d223 [Cache Components] Exclude dynamic params from prerenders when no generateStaticParams values is provided (#95872)
Fixes an issue in self-hosted and Vercel Adapter that causes some routes
that prerender static pages to include more route params than expected
when running in Cache Components.

For all Next.js environments any route matching a root param not already
in the cache will result in a prerender that includes all params
regardless of whether they were omitted from generateStaticParams.

For Vercel Adapter environments any route without a fallback that has an
empty shell during the build will prerender misses with all params
regardless of whether they were omitted from generateStaticParams.

This change fixes both issues and introduces a comprehensive test matrix
to catch regressions in these kinds of prerender decisions in the future

// Every route follows the same positional scheme —
// /<scenario>/<root-param>/<shell>/<lang>/<category>/<id> — so the

<h1>this combination cannot exist</h1>
<p>
You have selected the <strong>dynamic-param</strong> matrix with{' '}
<strong>root params</strong> enabled — a combination that is not
actually possible in a Next.js app:
</p>
<ul>
<li>
the dynamic-param matrix has no <code>generateStaticParams</code>{' '}
anywhere (that is its defining property), and
</li>
<li>
root params are required to be provided by{' '}
<code>generateStaticParams</code> — the build fails with &quot;A
required root parameter was not provided&quot; if a root param has no
enumerated value, because the document itself varies by a root param
and there is no mechanism to defer it.
</li>
</ul>
<p>
So a route whose root layout lives inside a param segment must enumerate
at least one value for that param, which would make it the
partial-static-param (or fully-static-param) matrix. Uncheck{' '}
<em>root params</em> or switch matrices to return to a real page.
