Both pre-commit and commit-msg invoked yarn 1.x. On machines where corepack enforces a global packageManager (e.g. ~/package.json declares pnpm), yarn 1.x bails before running the script so every commit fails with an opaque "husky - hook exited with code 1". pnpm exec lint-staged / pnpm exec commitlint resolve the same binaries via pnpm's own node_modules layout. lint-staged and commitlint are already installed in frontend/node_modules.
