\section{Payments: Hanzo Commerce}
\label{sec:payments}
%% ============================================================================
\subsection{Overview}
Hanzo Commerce provides a unified payment processing layer that aggregates multiple payment processors (Stripe, Square, Adyen, PayPal, cryptocurrency wallets) behind a single API. It handles checkout flows, subscription management, invoicing, tax calculation, and multi-currency settlement.

\subsection{Key Differentiator}
Processor failover: if Stripe returns a 5xx error or exceeds latency thresholds, Hanzo Commerce automatically routes the transaction to a fallback processor (Adyen, PayPal). This reduces payment failure rates by approximately 2.3\% based on production data from Q4~2025. Neither Stripe nor Square offer multi-processor routing because they are themselves the processor. The unified crypto + fiat checkout enables single-transaction purchases where part of the payment is in LUX tokens and part in USD.
