Alex HuntandGitHub d77b0baa1d [RN] Update ReactPrivate and InitializeCore imports (0.87 Strict API) (#36986)
## Summary

Migrate internal `Libraries/` import subpaths from `react-native` to the
incoming dedicated entry points in React Native 0.87.

**Motivation**

See [**RFC0894: Removing deep imports from
react-native**](https://github.com/react-native-community/discussions-and-proposals/pull/894)

**Changes**

The `react-private-interface` entry point has been created explicitly
for the private contract between React ↔ React Native, and is 1:1 with
the previous `ReactNativePrivateInterface` module.

Both of the below `Libraries/` paths still exist, but are deprecated —
this is a lagging migration that will enable cleanup in a future RN
version.

- `react-native/Libraries/Core/InitializeCore` →
`react-native/setup-env`
[react/react-native#57475](https://github.com/react/react-native/pull/57475)
- `react-native/Libraries/ReactPrivate/ReactNativePrivateInterface` →
`react-native/react-private-interface`
[react/react-native#57495](https://github.com/react/react-native/pull/57495)

Sam ZhouandGitHub fa0542dc66 [flow] Update files synced to react-native to use modern flow syntax (#36759)
## Summary

This diff bumps a few hermes-parser related dependencies so that it can
consume modern Flow syntax. In addition, it makes targeted changes to
two files that will be synced to react-native so that we can enforce we
only use modern flow syntax in react-native.

Rubén NorteandGitHub 273365041c [react-native-renderer] Delete Paper (legacy) renderer (#36285)
## Summary

The Paper renderer is no longer used in React Native. This commit
removes all remaining Paper source code, tests, build system references,
and Paper backward-compatibility branches in shared code.

Deleted Paper-only source files:
- ReactNativeRenderer.js, ReactNativeInjection.js,
ReactFiberConfigNative.js
- ReactNativeComponentTree.js, ReactNativeEventEmitter.js
- ReactNativeFiberHostComponent.js, ReactNativeGlobalResponderHandler.js
- ReactNativeAttributePayload.js, NativeMethodsMixinUtils.js
- ReactFiberConfig.native.js (reconciler fork)
- index.js (Paper entry point)

Cleaned up shared files:
- ReactNativePublicCompat.js: removed _nativeTag checks, UIManager/
legacySendAccessibilityEvent Paper fallbacks
- ReactNativeFiberInspector.js: removed getInspectorDataForViewTag,
UIManager.measure fallback, Paper branch in
getInspectorDataForViewAtPoint
- ReactFiberConfigFabric.js: removed _nativeTag backward compat in
getPublicInstance, removed getInspectorDataForViewTag from devtools
config
- ReactNativeTypes.js: removed ReactNativeType (Paper API type)

Cleaned up build system:
- inlinedHostConfigs.js: removed shortName 'native' config
- forks.js: removed dead 'react-native-renderer' case
- Deleted ReactNative.js shim and Paper-only test mocks

## How did you test this change?

Manually synced the renderer to RN and passed all Fantom tests.

Manually verified the differences in the generated `ReactFabric-dev.js`
file. Only Paper compat logic has been removed.

RickyandGitHub abe40e6763 [rn] delete the legacy renderers from the sync (#34946)
Now that RN is only on the New Architecture, we can stop stop syncing
the legacy React Native renderers.

In this diff, I just stop syncing them. In a follow up I'll delete the
code for them so only Fabric is left.

This will also allow us to remove the `enableLegacyMode` feature flag.

Alex HuntandGitHub e25b2a860d Update React Native shims to use export syntax (#31426)
## Summary

I'm working to get the main `react-native` package parsable by modern
Flow tooling (both `flow-bundler`, `flow-api-translator`), and one
blocker is legacy `module.exports` syntax. This diff updates files which
are [synced to
`react-native`](https://github.com/facebook/react-native/tree/main/packages/react-native/Libraries/Renderer/shims)
from this repo.

## How did you test this change?

Files were pasted into `react-native-github` under fbsource, where Flow
validates ✅.

d8137cf9ac Move @generated from build to sync (#29799)
## Overview

Reverts https://github.com/facebook/react/pull/26616 and implements the
suggested way instead.

This change in #26616 broken the internal sync command, which now
results in duplicated `@generated` headers. It also makes it harder to
detect changes during the diff train sync. Instead, we will check for
changes, and if there are changes sign the files and commit them to the
sync branch.

## Strategy

The new sync strategy accounts for the generated headers during the
sync:
- **Revert Version**: Revert the version strings
- **Revert @generated**: Re-sign the files (will be the same hash as
before if unchanged)
- **Check**: Check if there are changes **if not, skip**
- **Re-apply Version**: Now add back the new version string
- **Re-sign @generated**: And re-generate the headers

Then commit to branch. This ensures that if there are no changes, we'll
skip.

Jakub RomańczykandGitHub 8bd425cff8 refactor: use ESM exports in ReactNativeViewConfigRegistry (#27508)
## Summary

When transpiling `react-native` with `swc` this file caused some trouble
as it mixes ESM and CJS import/export syntax. This PR addresses this by
converting CJS exports to ESM exports. As
`ReactNativeViewConfigRegistry` is synced from `react` to `react-native`
repository, it's required to make the change here. I've also aligned the
mock of `ReactNativeViewConfigRegistry` to reflect current
implementation.

Jan KassensandGitHub 77a81a7182 Upgrade prettier (#26081)
The old version of prettier we were using didn't support the Flow syntax
to access properties in a type using `SomeType['prop']`. This updates
`prettier` and `rollup-plugin-prettier` to the latest versions.

I added the prettier config `arrowParens: "avoid"` to reduce the diff
size as the default has changed in Prettier 2.0. The largest amount of
changes comes from function expressions now having a space. This doesn't
have an option to preserve the old behavior, so we have to update this.

James IdeandChristoph Nakazawa 73f1d813c0 [react-native] Rewrite Haste imports in RN shims and add .fb.js extension (#15786)
This commit is a follow-up to https://github.com/facebook/react/pull/15604, which explains more of the rationale behind moving React Native to path-based imports and the work needed in the React repository. In that linked PR, the generated renderers were updated but not the shims; this commit updates the shims.

The problem is that FB needs a different copy of the built renderers than the OSS versions so we need a way for FB code to import different modules than in OSS. This was previously done with Haste, but with the removal of Haste from RN, we need another mechanism. Talking with cpojer, we are using a `.fb.js` extension that Metro can be configured to prioritize over `.js`.

This commit generates FB's renderers with the `.fb.js` extension and OSS renderers with just `.js`. This way, FB can internally configure Metro to use the `.fb.js` implementations and OSS will use the `.js` ones, letting us swap out which implementation gets bundled.

Test Plan: Generated the renderers and shims with `yarn build` and then verified that the generated shims don't contain any Haste-style imports. Copied the renderers and shims into RN manually and launched the RNTester app to verify it loads end-to-end. Added `.fb.js` to the extensions in `metro.config.js` and verified that the FB-specific bundles loaded.

Andrew ClarkandGitHub 30d4109f8d Lint rule for unminified errors (#15757)
* Lint rule for unminified errors

Add a lint rule that fails if an invariant message is not part of the
error code map.

The goal is to be more disciplined about adding and modifiying
production error codes. Error codes should be consistent across releases
even if their wording changes, for continuity in logs.

Currently, error codes are added to the error code map via an automated
script that runs right before release. The problem with this approach is
that if someone modifies an error message in the source, but neglects to
modify the corresponding message in the error code map, then the message
will be assigned a new error code, instead of reusing the existing one.

Because the error extraction script only runs before a release, people
rarely modify the error code map in practice. By moving the extraction
step to the PR stage, it forces the author to consider whether the
message should be assigned a new error code. It also allows the reviewer
to review the changes.

The trade off is that it requires more effort and context to land new
error messages, or to modify existing ones, particular for new
contributors who are not familiar with our processes.

Since we already expect users to lint their code, I would argue the
additional burden is marginal. Even if they forget to run the lint
command locally, they will get quick feedback from the CI lint job,
which typically finishes within 2-3 minutes.
