Two separate skews, both of which stopped the gate before it asserted anything.
tools — `go tool -modfile internal/tools/go.mod` could not start gotestsum:
go.sum recorded go-billy v5.9.0 while go.mod required v5.6.2, and x/sync
and x/vuln were missing outright. `make gotest` died at the first module it
tried (client) with "missing go.sum entry for go.mod file", so nothing
downstream ran. `go mod tidy` moves several indirect pins up; that is not a
bump for its own sake, it is what MVS already required — the recorded
versions were below their own dependents, which is exactly why no sum
matched them.
pdata — the generated proto code is written against
profiles/v1development v0.3.0, and go.mod pinned v0.2.0. Twelve marshal
round-trip tests failed on `wrong wireType = 2 for field LinkIndex`. This
restores rather than advances: client/go.sum still held the v1.10.0/v0.3.0
pair the pin had drifted away from. pprofile carried the same stale pair.
pdata is green now (4410 tests), pprofile green, and gotestsum resolves for
every module.
The gate still fails further along: confmap/internal/decoder.go calls
NewExpandedValueSanitizer and sanitizeToStr, neither of which exists — the
feature gate now lives in confmap/internal/metadata as
ConfmapNewExpandedValueSanitizerFeatureGate and the helper is gone entirely.
That is a regeneration that left its caller behind, and it wants an upstream
re-sync rather than a guess at the missing helper.
