The timeout branch can read packetsWritten while the dispatcher updates it. Snapshot the count under its mutex and annotate the writer's locking contract. Register fallback cleanup while retaining prompt per-iteration close so normal and failing paths join the dispatcher. Co-authored-by: Hanzo Dev <[email protected]>
