Zamyatin et al.\ \cite{zamyatin2021bridge} systematize cross-chain bridge designs, identifying trust assumptions and attack surfaces. Kiayias et al.\ \cite{kiayias2016proofs} develop non-interactive proofs of proof-of-work enabling SPV-level cross-chain verification. The IBC protocol \cite{goes2020ibc} established the light-client paradigm for cross-chain communication in the Cosmos ecosystem.

BLS multi-signatures were formalized by Boneh et al.\ \cite{boneh2018compact} with security proofs under the co-CDH assumption. Boldyreva \cite{boldyreva2003threshold} studied threshold BLS signatures. The \texttt{blst} library \cite{bowe2017bls12381} provides production-grade BLS12-381 implementations used in Ethereum 2.0 and LWM.

Optimistic protocols appear in rollup designs \cite{kalodner2018arbitrum, buterin2020rollup} and have been adapted for bridges by Optimism and Arbitrum. Our optimistic delivery mode applies similar ideas at the messaging layer rather than the execution layer.
