# Configuration

The Lux Indexer can be configured through environment variables, configuration files, or command-line flags.

## Environment Variables

### Core Settings

# RPC endpoints for each chain
LUX_C_RPC=http://127.0.0.1:9630/v1/chain/c

LUX_X_RPC=http://127.0.0.1:9630/v1/chain/x

LUX_DATA_DIR=./data       # Data directory for indexes

### Chain-Specific Configuration

## Configuration File

Create a `config.yaml` file:

## Storage Backends

### SQLite (Default)

Best for development and single-node deployments:

```yaml
storage:
  backend: sqlite
  url: ./indexer.db
```

### PostgreSQL

Recommended for production deployments:

```yaml
storage:
  backend: postgres
  url: postgres://user:pass@localhost:5432/indexer?sslmode=disable
```

### In-Memory

For testing only:

```yaml
storage:
  backend: memory
```

## Network Presets

### Mainnet

```bash
LUX_NETWORK=mainnet
# Auto-configures:
# - Chain ID: 96369
# - RPC: https://api.lux.network
```

### Testnet

```bash
LUX_NETWORK=testnet
# Auto-configures:
# - Chain ID: 96368
# - RPC: https://testnet-api.lux.network
```

### Local Development

## Performance Tuning

### Batch Processing

```yaml
indexer:
  batch_size: 100        # Blocks per batch
  max_concurrent: 4      # Parallel batch processing
  rate_limit: 100        # RPC calls per second
```

### Database Optimization

```yaml
storage:
  pool_size: 10          # Connection pool size
  max_idle: 5            # Max idle connections
  conn_lifetime: 3600    # Connection lifetime (seconds)
```

## Logging

```yaml
logging:
  level: info            # debug, info, warn, error
  format: json           # json or text
