| 1 | Lux Network Architecture | Core architecture specification for the Lux Network multi-chain ecosystem | Lux Core Team | Final | Standards Track | Core | 2024-01-15 |
Abstract
This LP defines the core architecture of the Lux Network, a high-performance, quantum-safe blockchain ecosystem featuring multiple specialized chains.
Motivation
Modern blockchain applications require specialized infrastructure for different use cases. A multi-chain architecture enables optimization for specific workloads while maintaining interoperability.
Specification
Chain Types
- A-Chain: Asset chain for transfers
- B-Chain: Bitcoin-compatible chain
- C-Chain: EVM-compatible smart contracts
- D-Chain: Data availability chain
- Y-Chain: Quantum-safe chain
- Z-Chain: Zero-knowledge chain
Consensus
The network uses the Snowman consensus protocol with sub-second finality.
Rationale
This architecture balances specialization with interoperability.
Backwards Compatibility
This is the foundational specification.
Security Considerations
Quantum-safe cryptography is integrated at the protocol level.
