zooqueen ebf46cbba8 proofs: reconcile Corona to Module-LWE (Ringtail-derived), not Ring-LWE rank-1
Corona is Lux's fork of Ringtail (ePrint 2024/1113) = two-round Module-LWE
(M=8, N=7 over R_q=Z_q[X]/(X^256+1), q=0x1000000004A01 48-bit, sigma=6.108) —
NOT Ring-LWE rank-1. Corona.lean: hardness Module-LWE; axiom corona_ring_lwe_euf_cma
-> corona_module_lwe_euf_cma; EUF-CMA reduces to Module-LWE; params corrected
(was q=2^32/sigma=13744). Corona/{OutputInterchange,Unforgeability,dkg2}, Quasar,
Magnetar, HQC, BLS, Threshold_Lagrange label fixes. 'Ring-LWE = Module-LWE rank 1'
kept only as general math remark. lake build: success.

HQC (Hamming Quasi-Cyclic) Key Encapsulation Correctness
NIST PQC4-round selected backup KEM. Code-based, hardness rests on
the Syndrome Decoding Problem (SDP) on random quasi-cyclic codes
— family-disjoint from Module-LWE (ML-KEM, Pulsar, Corona). A
structural break against MLWE does NOT compromise HQC and vice-versa.
Wired to fill the family-disjoint gap on the KEM side, parallel to
the Pulsar / Corona / Magnetar trio on the signature side. Note that
Pulsar and Corona are BOTH Module-LWE (differing in parameter regime
and lifecycle); Magnetar (hash) is the only cross-family signature
leg, just as HQC (code) is the only cross-family KEM leg:
Signature stack: Pulsar (MLWE) Corona (MLWE) Magnetar (hash)
KEM stack: ML-KEM (MLWE) — HQC (code)
Maps to:
- luxfi/crypto: hqc package (KeyGen / Encapsulate / Decapsulate)
- luxfi/precompile: hqc precompile at 0x012208 (Encapsulate only)
- LP-0120 §4: family-disjoint KEM line of LP-4200 PQCrypto block
Naming: HQC stands alone at 0x012208. The X25519 ∥ ML-KEM-768 ∥ HQC
triple at 0x2222 is named **X-Wing+**, a notation extension of the
IETF X-Wing KEM combiner (no new Wing letter introduced). Wing
prefixes are reserved for the KEM and transport lanes — the
signature *certificate profiles* use the astronomical names Aurora
(Pulsar ∥ Corona) and Polaris (Pulsar ∥ Corona ∥ Magnetar).
Properties proved here:
- Correctness: decaps(encaps(pk)) recovers the shared secret
- Implicit-rejection ciphertext non-malleability
- IND-CCA2 security under SDP hardness
- Wire-format sizes pinned to NIST IR 8528 §4.1
Spec: NIST IR 8528 "Status Report on the Fourth Round of the NIST
Post-Quantum Cryptography Standardization Process" (March 2025).

HQC uses Hofheinz–Hövelmanns–Kiltz implicit rejection: a tampered

/-- Family-disjointness with ML-KEM.
A reduction R from breaking HQC to solving Module-LWE would
have to convert a code-based SDP instance into a lattice
instance with a non-trivial loss. No such reduction is known,
and the underlying hardness assumptions (SDP on random
quasi-cyclic codes vs. MLWE on module lattices) are believed
independent. We model independence as: an oracle for one does
not yield an oracle for the other.
This is what makes HQC a meaningful family-disjoint backup to
ML-KEM in the Lux PQCrypto stack: a structural break in lattice
cryptography would not compromise HQC, and vice-versa.
