typescript 7.0.2 is the native compiler and exports no JavaScript API, so next 16.0 cannot read it — it stops the build asking for the package and even runs its own pnpm add. It comes in aliased as tsgo behind a new typecheck script; typescript moves 5.7 -> 6.0.3 for next. A css.d.ts declares the stylesheet the root layout imports, which TS7 asks for and 6.0.3 reads the same way. 2 diagnostics before and after — the two fumadocs Page/PageData reads in app/docs, untouched.
