Local zoo/formal was a stale parallel checkout that pointed at
zoo-labs/formal (non-existent); the canonical remote is
zooai/proofs. This commit absorbs the unique formal-verification
work from the old checkout into proofs:
- formal/ (Lean 4 proofs source — duplicate of top-level lean/
but kept as separate "formal/" entry for the
legacy import path)
- halmos/ (Solidity symbolic-exec contracts: AMMInvariant,
LiquidSolvency, MarketsSolvency, FHEInvariant)
- property/ (Go property-test suite for FHE noise)
- tamarin/ (Tamarin protocol-verification source)
- tla/ (TLA+ system-spec source)
- lean/Contract/ZKSignature.lean (unique, not in proofs/lean)
- lean/Crypto/ZKSignature.lean (unique, not in proofs/lean)
- FORMAL_VERIFICATION.md (preserved from the old README)
- LLM-formal.md (preserved from the old LLM.md)
The duplicate folder /Users/z/work/zoo/formal is now deleted on
disk. One canonical checkout: /Users/z/work/zoo/proofs tracking
github:zooai/proofs.

Threshold Uniqueness Proof (mechanized)
Proves: If alpha > n/2, at most one value can achieve alpha votes
among honest validators in any round.
This eliminates the `unique_threshold` axiom in Safety.lean by
providing a constructive counting argument using Finset intersection.
Core argument:
- Let S_v1 = honest nodes preferring v1, S_v2 = honest nodes preferring v2
- Each honest node has exactly one preference (preference is a function)
- |S_v1| >= alpha and |S_v2| >= alpha
- S_v1 and S_v2 are disjoint (a node prefers exactly one value)
- So |S_v1 ∪ S_v2| = |S_v1| + |S_v2| >= 2 * alpha > n
- But |S_v1 ∪ S_v2| <= n (they're subsets of all nodes)
- Contradiction: v1 = v2
Maps to Go code:
- protocol/wave/wave.go: Each node stores exactly one preference
- core/dag/horizon.go: alpha threshold for round acceptance

Honest nodes have at most one preference. So the sets

Section 2: The counting argument
If two disjoint subsets of {0, ..., n-1} each have cardinality >= alpha,
then their union has cardinality >= 2 * alpha.
But the union is a subset of {0, ..., n-1} which has cardinality n.
So 2 * alpha <= n, i.e., alpha <= n/2.
Contrapositive: if alpha > n/2, the subsets cannot both have cardinality >= alpha
unless they are the same set (i.e., v1 = v2).
