The variant list predated light, current, the default flip and the wordmarks,
and it named MARK_PATHS as the source when MARK_BLOCKS + MARK_SHADE are. It
records the file-vs-inline split too, because that one is not guessable: an
<img> has no parent, so currentColor in a file is black, not adaptive.
