Bylines, paper authorship, correspondence addresses and the founder blurb under each post named an individual. They name the organisation that published the work instead: the brand on posts and pages, the research byline on papers, and research@ in place of a personal address. Both are what these repositories already used elsewhere — nothing new was coined. Co-authors are untouched. Where a paper named someone else alongside, they stay named; only the one byline changed. Bibliography entries, running heads, PDF metadata and affiliations move with it, so a citation still resolves to whoever the cited paper names. Sample and fixture data uses the placeholder name these tests already use elsewhere, so no assertion changed meaning.
Quasar
Quasar is the supermassive black hole at the center of the Lux post-quantum finality universe. Every consensus event in every Lux primary-network chain is pulled into a per-round QuasarCert — a PQ-finality certificate composed from the underlying threshold primitives (Pulsar M-LWE, Corona R-LWE, Magnetar SLH-DSA), the classical BLS aggregate fast-path, and the Z-Chain Groth16 / P3Q on-chain verifier roll-up. Nothing escapes Quasar's event horizon without going through PQ finality.
What this repo is
This repo owns the contract:
- Cert wire format (
SPEC.md) - Profile registry (
PROFILES.md— Pulsar / Aurora / Polaris) - Primitive registry (
PRIMITIVES.md— pinned implementation versions) - Cross-primitive composition theorems (
proofs/) - Integration test surface against all profile / primitive combinations
This repo is NOT a Go implementation. The consensus-engine binding
that wires Quasar into the linear-chain / DAG drivers lives at
luxfi/consensus/protocol/quasar/
and imports primitives from the component repos listed below.
Primitives (see PRIMITIVES.md)
| Primitive | Repo | Role | Tag |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pulsar | luxfi/pulsar |
Threshold ML-DSA-65 (M-LWE) — NIST MPTC Class N1 + N4 | v1.0.9 |
| Corona | luxfi/corona |
Threshold R-LWE sibling kernel | v0.4.0 |
| Magnetar | (see PRIMITIVES.md) |
Threshold SLH-DSA / hash-based — research / cross-family diversity | research |
| BLS | luxfi/crypto/bls |
BLS12-381 aggregate — classical fast path | pinned |
| Z-Chain Groth16 | luxfi/chains/quantumvm |
Per-validator ML-DSA-65 rolled into a 192-byte Groth16 proof | pinned |
| Lens | luxfi/lens |
Curve-side threshold sister kernel | pinned |
Profiles (see PROFILES.md)
| Profile | Composition | Use case |
|---|---|---|
| Pulsar | BLS ‖ Pulsar | PQ floor — single PQ kernel, smallest cert |
| Aurora | BLS ‖ Pulsar ‖ Corona | Intra-lattice diversity — two lattice constructions backing each cert |
| Polaris | BLS ‖ Pulsar ‖ Corona ‖ Magnetar | Maximum-assurance — cross-family (lattice + hash-based) defense in depth |
Each cert profile is independently selectable per-chain via
FinalitySchemeID in consensus/config/pq_mode.go.
QuasarCert (see SPEC.md)
type QuasarCert struct {
BLS []byte // BLS12-381 aggregate, 48 bytes classical fast path
Pulsar []byte // Threshold ML-DSA-65 byte-equal output, FIPS 204 verifier
Corona []byte // Threshold R-LWE (Aurora / Polaris profiles)
Magnetar []byte // Threshold SLH-DSA (Polaris profile only)
MLDSAProof []byte // Z-Chain Groth16 rolling up N × ML-DSA identity sigs, ~192 B

}
Verifiers MUST verify every populated leg present in the cert. An empty leg (length 0) is "not used by this profile"; a populated leg that fails verification is a cert-soundness failure.
