Mission Statement
Zoo Labs Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing open AI research and decentralized science (DeSci) for the benefit of humanity.
All research, specifications, and innovations documented in this repository are permanently granted to the public domain and may be used by anyone for any purpose without restriction.
Public Goods Grant
Permanent Open License
All Zoo Improvement Proposals (ZIPs) and associated research are released under the following terms:
YOU MAY:
- Use, copy, modify, and distribute without restriction
- Create derivative works for any purpose
- Use commercially without license fee
- Patent improvements (but not the original work)
- Integrate into any project, open or closed source
NO RESTRICTIONS:
- No attribution required (though appreciated)
- No copyleft obligations
- No patent claims by Zoo Labs
- No commercial use restrictions
- No geographic limitations

Zen-Agentic Datasets
Note: Zen-Agentic datasets (10.5B tokens of agentic AI training data) are maintained by Hanzo AI Inc (PRIVATE - not yet released) under a Network Use License:
- FREE: Any network built on the Open AI Protocol (the primary consensus layer powering Hanzo, Lux, Zoo, and all Open AI chains)
- COMMERCIAL LICENSE REQUIRED: Closed/proprietary networks not using Open AI Protocol
The Open AI Protocol is the open standard for decentralized AI compute, inference verification, and model attestation. Networks adopting PoAI (Proof of AI) consensus automatically qualify.

Patent Statement
Zoo Labs Foundation explicitly waives all patent rights to innovations documented in this repository. We:
- Will not file patents on ZIP-documented innovations
- Will not enforce any existing patents against implementations
- Encourage others to implement freely
- Provide defensive publication to prevent others from patenting
Trademark Statement
"Zoo", "Zoo Labs", "ZIPs", and "Zen" are tradenames used for identification only. We do not restrict their use in contexts referencing our work.
