### Design Decisions
1. **Context API over Redux**: Simpler for cart state, sufficient for current scale
2. **LocalStorage**: Demo persistence, will be replaced with DB
3. **Hanzo Billing**: PCI-compliant payment portal
4. **React Router**: Client-side routing for SPA experience
5. **TypeScript**: Type safety and better DX

### Security Considerations
- Hanzo Billing handles sensitive payment data
- No PCI compliance burden on client
- Environment variables for API keys
